These muffins are regulars in my peach dessert rotation (along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeproject.com\/simple-stuffed-peach-crumble\/\">baked peaches<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeproject.com\/peaches-and-cream-recipe-you-can-make\/\">peaches and cream<\/a>, and topping anything I can with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeproject.com\/whipped-cream-frosting-with-peaches\/\">peach whipped cream<\/a>). You can use either light or dark brown sugar; dark brown sugar will have a stronger flavor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lemon zest<\/strong> &#8211; Fresh lemon zest enhances the flavor of the peaches. If there are other spices you like, such as cardamom, allspice, or cloves, you can experiment with adding them as well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sour cream<\/strong> &#8211; Adding sour cream to the muffins gives them moisture and adds a little tang to their flavor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Peaches<\/strong> &#8211; The recipes uses fresh peaches. I suggest using peaches that are fully ripe. They should be soft to the touch. I use this same crumb topping on many recipes, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeproject.com\/crumb-topping-for-apple-pie\/\">apple crumb pie<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeproject.com\/sour-cream-coffee-cake\/\">crumb cake<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-it-s-made\">How It&#8217;s Made<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First, prepare peaches for baking. Cut each peach around the middle and twist to separate the two halves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a paring knife, pry the pit out of the half that contains it. This keeps them from sinking during the bake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-pink-background-color has-background\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-red-color\">Tip:<\/span><\/strong> I do not peel my peaches.
