My brookie recipe is made with a <strong>layer of brownie, a layer of chocolate chip cookie dough, and then another layer of brownie<\/strong>. They are wonderfully dense due to the sheer number of chocolate chips used in the recipe &#8211; <em>2 full pounds<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>The inside of a brookie remains soft and moist, though, just like you would expect from a blondie (chocolate chip cookie dough baked in a brownie pan).<\/p>\n<p><strong>These chocolate chip cookie bars are wonderful <em>warm and melty<\/em> but just as good (and far less messy) at room temperature. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I cut off and eat small slivers of this dessert trying to fool myself into believing that I won&#8217;t be having another ten small slivers.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Make Brookies<\/h2>\n<p>First, <strong>you&#8217;ll need brownie batter and chocolate chip cookie batter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For the brownie batter part, I use my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeproject.com\/double-chocolate-brownie-cookies\/\">double chocolate chip brownie cookie<\/a> recipe, shown below. (Those cookies are insanely good all on their own. Combining two recipes works best if they have similar bake times and batter consistencies.<\/p>\n<p>To switch things up, try these fun variations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a mix of chocolate chips and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeproject.com\/pumpkin-pie-spice-chips-perfect-for\/\">cinnamon chips<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Top with crushed peppermint to make these for the holidays.<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with
