That sounds like a yummy recipe for our “Thanksgivnukah” celebration this year (Since Thanksgiving and the first night of Chanukah fall on the same evening we’ll be celebrating both together.). My traditional tsimmes doesn’t have apples or pineapple. That sounds like an interesting addition. And somehow the apples make it feel more thanksgiving to me (I usually make apple pie on thanksgiving). Hmmm… turkey with tsimmes and then rugelach for dessert – that sounds like a great culinary combination of the holidays…well still gotta have the latkes :-).

I’ve never seen tsimmes made this way but then you’ve probably never seen my moms version. She covers her with marshmallows.

This looks great. I’d venture to say that no matter what, your moms way will always taste the best to you.
