Made with a ready-made crust and spiced rum instead of apple liquor. The low sugar apple pie was perfect for breakfast. I needed to use up the egg whites so I made a meringue topping. It added just enough sweetness to make it a dessert. Will definitely be making it again. Thanks!

Oh no!! I’m so sorry! I inadvertently left the flour off in the recipe. I only used it in the custard, not in the apple filling and it all worked perfectly.

Did anyone even proof-read this recipe? Obviously it needs a thickener and it talks about flour in the preamble but the recipe itself does not list this. I added a tablespoon to the apple mixture and the same to the egg mixture to help it set.
