The strawberries you used could have been a factor. The better the berries taste, the better the frosting will taste.

It is a pretty simple recipe however even adding the strawberries the frosting is too plain. I double the strawberries and added vanilla pink food coloring and milk to make the frost creamy With a cup more of sugar.
For beginners or bakers who love different flavors frosting this would be great Especially for kids
