They are nearly as good as regular churros, way healthier, and you don’t have the mess of fry oil.

Stack of churros on a white plate

I made fried and air fried churros in the same day so I could directly compare the two. The air fryer ones were a lighter color and perhaps slightly more dry (not surprising), but they were really tasty. If I didn’t have the other ones right there for comparison, I probably wouldn’t have known the difference!

It’s worth giving this recipe a try for a special treat that is really easy to make.

It takes patience to prepare it from scratch, but it’s worth the wait! You’ll end up with a creamy and smooth caramel-like sauce that is wonderful on ice cream, cakes, cookies, and more!

Boozy Margarita Cupcakes https://www.cupcakeproject.com/margarita-cupcakes-can-cupcake-be/ https://www.cupcakeproject.com/margarita-cupcakes-can-cupcake-be/#comments Fri, 28 Feb 2020 15:47:00 +0000 http://gw.finelimedesigns.com/2007/05/margarita-cupcakes-can-a-cupcake-be-dangerous-3/ Margarita Cupcakes, like margaritas themselves, go down smooth. They leave you with just a small tickle in your mouth from the coarse salt and sugar sprinkled on top.

They won’t get you drunk, but these boozy cupcakes burst with flavor thanks to homemade tequila lime frosting.

Homemade Margarita Chex Mix – An Easy and Wildly Addictive Last-Minute Party Snack https://www.cupcakeproject.com/homemade-margarita-chex-mix-an-easy-and-wildly-addictive-last-minute-party-snack/ https://www.cupcakeproject.com/homemade-margarita-chex-mix-an-easy-and-wildly-addictive-last-minute-party-snack/#comments Tue, 14 May 2013 03:20:14 +0000 https://www.cupcakeproject.com/?p=14906 Margarita Chex Mix

Five minutes is all it takes to make this homemade margarita Chex Mix – and that’s being generous; you could probably do it in three.  When you’re done, you’ll have a simple party snack with all of the elements of snacking success: sweet, salty, tangy, and crunchy.  Since I am always baking cupcakes, I sometimes forget that a snack doesn’t have to take ten minutes of prep time and twenty minutes in the oven to be a party favorite.  This homemade margarita Chex Mix is right up there with my sweet and salty roasted chickpeas in my quick, easy, amazing, please-don’t-let-me-forget-this recipe repertoire.

Homemade Margarita Chex Mix Recipe

You can find a few other recipes for margarita Chex Mix online.  Where mine differs is that I did not use margarita mix as a key ingredient – I just didn’t find the need for it.  As you’ll see below, I flavored mine with tequila, lime juice, and powdered sugar (you can add salt if you are a salted-rim kind of person).

Homemade Jelly Beans – You Pick the Flavor https://www.cupcakeproject.com/homemade-jelly-beans-you-pick-flavor/ https://www.cupcakeproject.com/homemade-jelly-beans-you-pick-flavor/#comments Thu, 12 Apr 2012 22:30:00 +0000 http://gw.finelimedesigns.com/2012/04/homemade-jelly-beans-you-pick-the-flavor-3/ Once I conquered homemade Lucky Charms (a task that was so arduous I will never repeat it), I needed another challenge. I set my sights on homemade jelly beans. While homemade jelly beans are time-consuming to make, I learned that the process isn’t that difficult. I would make homemade jelly beans again and I would encourage you to try preparing them, too.

Seriously, you can do this.

When you create homemade jelly beans, you get the joy of choosing the flavor and color you’d like – any drink you fancy can be turned into a jelly bean flavor. Use juice to flavor jelly beans for a kid’s party, but don’t forget the adults. Grownup flavors made using your favorite cocktails allow you to get really creative. The homemade jelly beans shown above are margarita jelly beans. Serve the margarita jelly beans straight up or use them to top margarita cupcakes. Jello shots are so 2011; homemade jelly beans are where it’s at!

How Do Homemade Jelly Beans Compare to Store-Bought Jelly Beans?

These homemade jelly beans are close to store-bought jelly beans, but not quite the same.
